ARTS PICTURE DAY - TIME TO SHINE! - PROUD MEMORIES
GLAM : HAIR & MAKEUP
Hair and Makeup is availble during Picute Day and needs to be added to your purchase, you can choose just hair or just makeup or both. Please allow 30min for each service, 1 hour for both - arrive in advance.
Hair and makeup is strongly recommended for tweens/teens and adult dancers who are doing a photoshoot during Picture Day.
If you choose to do your glam yourself, here is what we recommend:
- Hair away from the face : high bun, low bun, ponytail, braid(s).
- If hair is left free: strait iron, curl iron or blow out is recommended for a finished look and to give volume to the hair.
- For camera-ready makeup : have a matte finish to your skin, no heavy makeup is preferred, soft glam smokey eye.
Bring with you:
- hair brush, hair spray, hair pins.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR SHOT:
All you need is your beautiful self - this is a chance to have fun and create some beautiful proud moments for you and family to cherish! We take a lot of care to make sure your photos stand out. If you would like some guidance on the details below are some suggestions to complete your look:
WARDROBE - GIRLS
Below are some recommendations for what to bring and wear for your photos. You are welcome to wear any outfit that you love and want to remember. Some wardrobe items do not look good on camera and the photographer recommends to stay away from: large print labels (anything with words across the shirt/bottom), large check or graphic prints, stripes.
WE RECOMMEND:
- wear small skin-tone underwear that will not show easily.
- simple black sleeveless/cami leotard
- Footwear: latin/standard shoes, pointe shoes, dance shoes.
- Leotards: skin-tone, white, other colors.
- Long ballet / standard circle skirt, mesh, chiffon, tulle or opaque, tutus, etc.
- crop top: white, black, nude
- knee highs, thigh-highs
- Black sports bra & underwear set
If you choose to wear a competition look for your shoot, hair and makeup is required as it will otherwise not look as a finished look. For young dancers it can be hair only if preferred.
WARDROBE - GUYS
For guys we recommend strong looks, avoiding large patterns or lettering, as these do not photograph well.
- Tank top: white, black, grey
- Collar shirt: white, black, color
- Latin/standard pants
- Dance shoes
- For ballet: black/white/brown tights, black dance underwear briefs, other bottoms
If you choose to wear a competition look for your shoot, have your hair done in a look similar to competition, as it will otherwise not look as a finished look.
Facial hair : neatly trimmed or clean shaven.
