Marianna Olshtein | About Me | Curriculum Vitae
Cover Letter
I am excited and eager to contribute to any and every aspect of running a photography studio, I learn quickly, am a self-starter, and enjoy problem solving. My background is in working with software development teams, and in that career I managed employees, utilized project management skills and wore many hats working at software startups as well as established firms. I have experience in project management, software quality assurance, process improvement, agile methodology and traditional QA approach.
Artistic interests were always part of my life - I attended a liberal arts college in upstate New York and throughout the years photographed dance and artistic events.
In the recent year I had an opportunity to photograph in a studio setting, work with studio lighting, grip and tethering. I immediately knew this is what i wanted to continue doing, not only because I loved working with studio lighting and learning about gaining control and intention in my images, but also because, to me, photography is the perfect intersection of artistic creativity and technical knowledge and skill - both aspects I greatly enjoy.
I am available any number of hours per week, am eager to work hard, like working with others in a team and helping, comfortable doing administrative/clerical work.
I believe my past experience in software quality assurance and photography will help me be a useful contributor at Lindsay Adler Photography and to learn quickly in areas where I need to grow. My goal is to build a career in photography, whether as an assistant, studio manager or a contributing photographer. This is my passion and it is my dream to work for Lindsay Adler Photography.
